All the buzz I’d heard about the movie 500 Days of Summer peeked my interest. I finally took the time and watched the movie. It was one of the best movies I’ve seen in a long time. If you’ve seen the movie, did you notice that Summer wore blue in every scene? I loved Summer’s quirky sense of style…functional with a splash of romance. I sketched out the one-of-a-kind-necklace featured below soon after watching the movie. I think Summer would approve.

I have been obsessed with mixed metals more than ever since I returned from my recent trip to New York City. The displays on the main floor of the ABC Home and Carpet Store are so inspiring. The custom necklace featured on this week’s Signature Style sheet was inspired after spending an afternoon in the store. Speaking of ABC Home and Carpet Store…if you ever find yourself near the store on 19th and Broadway in Manhattan be sure to stop in at Pipa for some amazing tapas!

When I saw this party favor on the FAB new on-line magazine, Nonpareil, I was inspired to create a vintage floral necklace. If you haven’t heard of this magazine yet you have to check it out. They focus on weddings and events with a DIY spin. Hip, stylish and inspiring, a seriously fabulous magazine.

Jenny came to work the other day in this amazing blue dress! Isn’t she so adorable? I just had to get a shot of her in the Isabella necklace.

The easiest way to create a little drama with your jewelry is to pair two pieces that feel very different in texture. The pearls of the Meryl necklace – a more traditional piece – become more interesting when you add the edge of the Bella necklace. The mixed materials create interest and contrast that will make your outfit sing.

I’m excited to announce the “Lucky1″ project here at Sheer Addiction! Here’s how it works:
1) Submit a photo of yourself to info@sheeraddiction.com by Sun, Feb. 28th at 11:59pm.
2) Include a list of 5 things I should know about you. Give me some hints about what makes you…”YOU” so I can create a custom necklace perfectly suited for your personality.
3) One LUCKY winner will be selected on March 1, 2010 and will receive a one-of-a-kind necklace created especially for them!
Will you be the Lucky1?!
